The Ridgewing system is designed to allow anyone to make precisely interchangeable Ridgewing-compatible components on their kitchen table. Any of the basic instrument components - headstock, neck, bridge and body - can be rough-created with hand-drill-hand-saw methods. The preliminary imprecision of these hand tool methods is eliminated when these simple drill guides are used to hold the requisite brass sleeves and dowels with five-minute epoxy for final hole and pin placement and perfect component interchangeability.

The goal of this modularity is that it allows guitar components to be developed and experimented with one at a time, and assure that they will be perfectly interchangeable with any other of the same type. The 3D-printed bridge skeleton and mounting jig allows anyone to create a perfect Ridgewing-compatible bridge of their own design with some epoxy paste, FEMO or modeling clay.
