This is the hardware assembly that goes on the headstock end of a Ridgewing-compatible neck allowing it to attach to a Ridgewing-compatible headstock.

The components are:

1. a neck cap that holds the highly-stressed end of the neck together like a dental on-lay. This can be hand-machined out of some ¼” brass stock if you have at least a drill-press to hold the mill to hog out the cavity. Much better is to order it 3D printed.

2. Two brass tube liners of 6.35mm (1/4”) ID that will accept the headstock dowels. The holes for these liners can be hand-drilled, and then these liners are set precisely by a simple jig with two steel dowels that hold them until the 5 minute epoxy dries.

3. A replaceable “coin” of hard metal that is the contact point for the headstock lever bearing all of the string tension and transferring it to the neck.

4. A screw to hold the coin in place.
